Hotel Cala Sant Vicenç appoints ‘Ginista’ to celebrate World Gin Day – 11 June 2016
Hotel Cala Sant Vicenç, the luxury boutique hotel set in the heart of one of the most beautiful regions of Mallorca, is proud to mark the annual World Gin Day by appointing a ‘Ginista’ and offering a specialist bar menu.
Presenting a bespoke collection of classic, vintage and craft gins with a select choice of specialty mixers and botanical garnishes, the new bar offering is a timely celebration of the enjoyment of all things gin.
The current infatuation with fashionable Spanish ‘Gin Tonic’, along with the country’s growing reputation as the best place in the world to drink one, has captured the attention of chefs and bartenders across the land. Hotel Cala Sant Vicenç does not disappoint with its eclectic cocktail menu, created by the hotel’s talented team of Ginistas, featuring over 20 individual gins which have been cleverly paired with a choice of 14 speciality tonic waters and delicious flavourings of home-grown citrus fruit and herbs.
The perfect ‘G & T’ has long been recognised as the quintessential British tipple, however as its popularity reaches global recognition it’s clearly no longer just an English favourite! While a selection of the finest London Dry gins dominate themenu selection, the Cala Sant Vicenç Ginista offering also includes a stylish mix of spirits distilled in Scotland, Germany, France and Spain as well as from across the pond where gin is a common ingredient in the all-important American cocktail mix.
Exquisite locally produced gins also take pride of place in the bar listing – Gin Eva is made from home grown juniper berries which bring a true taste of Mallorca to its handcrafted artisanal dry gin; Xoriguer is a classic gin from Mahon, Menorca and is made from distilled wine; and Gin Mare, a Spanish gin from Catalonia includes rosemary, thyme, olive, and basil in its botanical line up.
Whether a keen gin aficionado in search of the perfect Gin Tonic, or an enthusiastic cocktail lover looking for an exciting new blend of grain and bubbles, the hotels Ginista will assist to make the perfect choice. Whilst Saturday 11th June is officially designated as a day for gin lovers to celebrate around the world, Hotel Cala Sant Vicenç will continue to serve its special gin menu throughout the season, long after World Gin Day is over!
